Upon entering the main living room areas one is struck by both the elaborately designed brushed stainless steel and glass panel floating staircase and the exterior aspect of direct sea and beach views directly below the house. The configuration of sofas is such that the signature staircase is sure to be a focal point near informal reception and television lounge areas. The views are of both Lions Head and of the surfers bound for the beach beyond the palm-fringed promenade; paragliders land on the horizon while wave-washed boulders form an extension of view though the trees. The main living areas are conceived around an open-plan fluid design of uncluttered clean lines rendered in white predominantly. The flooring is of large tiles while the eye is lead to a ten-seater glass dining table near the wide patio doors of the main verandah terrace. Two pea green sofas face each other across a coffee table in an informal lounge alcove while an animal print footstool softens the bordering glass screen of extensive patio doors. Distincive deep pile brown fibre rugs sit under coffee tables. Outside here, a novel asymmetrical tile and decking sun terrace with uninterrupted views across to Lions Head is complemented by an L-shaped pool and occasional table and chairs suite. Flat roof lines accentuate the linearity here yet this is broken up by the two-tone dark and light materials of the sun lounger deck. A second ten-seater black slate dining table sits under a giant parasol protective of mid-afternoon sea-glare behind the smaller section of the pool on an attractive al freco dining patio (there is an outdoor barbecue). There is a restful water feature here on the back wall while water also pours from waterfall taps into the pool. Subtle ceiling-mounted mouldings house sophisticated surround sound audio speakers that can be seperately controlled to deliver perfect sound through to the terrace. Returning inside, the full-specification kitchen of Whirlpool fridge-freezer with ice-dispensor, double oven and gas hobs are set in a dark-stained wooden cabinets environment of a ceasar-stone island with bar stools (there is an adjoining utility-laundry room). The kitchen serves as an ideal entertaining venue of dining and terrace areas (with guest WC). The two guest en suite bedrooms on this first floor feature ceasar stone finishes of oval bath and free-standing washbasins and counters. On the upper, second floor one encounters the master en suite and two further spacious guest bedrooms all with individually designed bathrooms with bathtubs positioned to exploit maximally the fine sea views. The master has a private square balcony and access to a sweeping front-facing broad terrace. The bath here is rectangular and large facing directly to Lions Head. There is ample walk-though wardrobe space. The guest bedrooms both open on to the main balcony terrace and have oval caesar stone baths with matching oval washbasins. There is additional wardrobe space near the glass lift shaft. Opaque glass doors on the ground floor lead to a dedicated television lounge-home cinema with three deep sofas centred around the wide-screen monitor. There is a cooler drinks fridge here. A lift is installed providing access to all floors. There is a double garage and additional off-street parking available. |
