Words By Aimee Eveleigh Gordon This villa is located in a tranquil and secluded corner of a lush, tree-lined street and boasts amazing panoramic views of the sea and city below. A dirt road winds itself up towards the very grand driveway entrance on the property. The large gate is guarded round the clock by a security guard in a cabin on the corner. The entire perimeter of the large property is also fenced with very visible electric wire cables running from corner to corner. Peace of mind and a care-free holiday is the notion which corresponds to this attested fact. The driveway is framed by beautiful landscaped gardens. The home’s outside view presents itself as that which is very soothing to the eye. A plateau of constant and smooth lines and angles is the calming effect it exudes and this quality is paired with an all-round white exterior – brilliantly off-set by the suns rays. The property is very well portioned and balanced. The lower section of the grounds is housed with an entirely separate guest cottage and a superbly finished tennis-court. The upper right-hand corner of the home is built in an outward-extension. This area is created to serve as an outdoor entertainment patio. The space is very large and elevated. From here, one has a vantage point of the mountain range, forests, and a corner of the sea. The space is optimally fitted with recreational features: a large heated swimming pool, sun-bathing reclining furniture and an outdoor lounge-suite dwell underneath a shaded portion of the patio, alongside this is the functional area of service bar, sink and food-prep area. The pool actually leads itself onto a little pathway and arrives at a concealed door adjacent to the main front entrance of the home. This concealed doorway opens itself to a private steam-room and shower area that can seat 6 people – and it connects to the guest cloak room on the entrance level of the home. The villa also has an outdoor section on its opposite side – facing the lushness and greenery of the forest of trees. This area includes a stunning piece of garden and a smooth, shaded, raw Travertine-clad patio with an outdoor lounge suite and wood-burning barbecue facility. The guest cottage on the property is very well-equipped to comfortably house the balance of a larger group. Those who can not fit comfortably inside the main villa may be accommodated in the cottage to the same level and standard of ultra-luxury as is the case within the walls of the aforementioned main villa. The cottage has its own private mountain-facing patio, and from this location one has access to the tennis-court below. The inside is complete with three bedrooms – two of which are fitted with queen-sized beds, and one has twin single beds. There is under floor heating throughout the cottage for comfort. The kitchen is fully-equipped and includes a dishwasher and washing machine. The lounge has a plasma-screen TV, DVD player and satellite TV. The main villa has three bedrooms. Two bedrooms on the lower level of the home both have en-suite bathrooms finished in raw travertine. The bathrooms each have frameless showers, a bath tub, dual vanities and heated towel rails. One bedroom has a walk-in wardrobe and a king-sized bed. The Master suite is on the upper level of the villa. It is finished in beautiful lime-washed beech floors. It has two, separate private balconies – each having a different view on each respective side of the home. The room has a King-sized bed facing a plasma screen TV. The TV picks up Satellite channels and has surround-sound. The open-plan en-suite bathroom has a free-standing Victorian-style bath-tub, a frameless shower, double vanities and beautiful view of the mountain. From the master suite one is able to operate the alarm system, intercom and CCTV cameras. The lounge in the villa has a staircase which leads up to an elevated and open-planned loft study. The study has mountain views from the window. It comes complete with a wireless internet connection, a phone line, fax machine and printer. The lounge is decorated in muted tones of pale browns, beiges and cream. The lounge-suite frames a magnificent animal hide rug. The space has a wood-burning fireplace and an Oak dining table which seats 12 people. The gym is kitted with state of the art techno cardio and kinesis equipment and a ballet bar with a large mirror lines the right of the room. The kitchen is open planned and finished with original Caesar-Stone tops. It is fully-equipped with top-of-the range appliances of every kind and has a dishwasher, scullery and separate laundry facility with tumble dryer, washing machine and ironing area. The laundry has an exit into the two-car garage. On the opposite side of the home is a convenient TV/recreation room. The room is soothingly decorated in calming pastel browns and plush, brushed velvets. It has a large Plasma screen TV, Satellite, DVD player, Hi-Fi stereo system and a surround sound system. The room also has a door which opens up into a private yoga studio. It is completely functional in that is has a wooden bar running the full-length of the room and attached to an entirely mirrored wall. The opposite wall is beautifully reflected in the mirrored side of the room in that it is wall-papered in a photographic, giant print of a bamboo forest. |
