Words By Aimee Eveleigh Gordon The villa is located in a tree-lined street in a very lush, green and forresty area of its suburb. The property itself is vast in perimeter and its effective ambience lends itself to the notion of a country-side retreat amongst the mountains. The villa is a functional villa-hotel and is designed as such so is to incorporate all aspects of the staff service spaces in as discreet a manner as possible. The wrought-iron electric gates allow access to an off-street parking enclosure large enough to fit 5 parked cars and the garage houses 3 vehicles.Totalling seven bedrooms, the home is big enough to accommodate a large group or family and is so exceptionally fitted with areas and elements generated to entertainment; relaxation and leisure that one would ultimately not need to leave the house for anything. The security system is top-notch with its driveway and entrance CCTV cameras and alarm-beaming fixture. All bedrooms each have an en-suite bathroom with a shower, toilet and dual-vanities. Each room also has air-con climate-control and there is underfloor heating throughout the main area of the home. The homes all-round colour-scheme is maintained in shades of stony-greys, lime-washed white, cream and dark-stained wood. Collectively, this palette creates an atmosphere of tranquillity and serene calm. The villa entire ground-floor area is comprised of every functional living space and bedroom apart from two bedrooms upstairs. These two include one further guest-suite and the very grand master suite. The master suite is decorated to the utmost heights of luxury. It features two, separate private balconies. One can be opened up as an exterior extension of the view-facing king-sized bed. Here one is seated on an Balau-timber deck over-hanging the exquisitely manicured and landscaped garden and may see as far as the False-Bay coastline and ocean beyond. The second balcony is accessed through large doors in front of the stand-alone Victorian style tub in the excessively indulgent en-suite. The en-suite has a frameless, doorless double-head shower feature and a rear door-way which becomes an entire room dedicated to being a huge dressing-room and wardrobe. An exceptional work of art takes its form in the shape of a hand-carved desk created out of an Australian worm-wood chestnut tree stump. It includes the additions of a telephone and a wireless internet device. An ornate and beautifully embellished wood-burning fireplace is a thoughtful extra to radiate natural warmth on chilly nights. There is a final addition in this room and it is the plasma TV system with its surround-sound feature and satellite channels. Inside the guest-kitchen area, it is complimented with dark-stained wood accents and white Caesar-Stone tops. All conceivable and brand-new appliances reign throughout and additionally one may turn the work-top central island into a bar with matching bar-stool seating. In the fore-ground a ten seater informal dining area over-looks the garden view. For hot Summer-night celebrating, an outside barbecue area is provided with ample shade with much roominess and seating around a long banquet-type table. Here a master wall-fitted barbecue is resplendent with all its extra features and accessories. Behind the guests kitchen and accessed via a crossing of the stone-floored hallway, a industrial-type kitchen/scullery/laundry serves as the main working area for the villa-hotel staff from which to prepare decadent gourmet meals, entrees, snacks and desserts. Again, double sets of state-of the art cooking and refrigeration equipment fill the area and all relevant hi-tech laundry machines. The lounge is beautifully accentuated with original African-inspired pieces of art, a plasma-screen TV, DVD player, satellite, surround-sound music system, i-pod docking station and a system that enables one to play music in any room in the villa or watch different channels in the master-suite. A formal dining-room is an individual space with a ten-seater table a magnificent black-crystal chandelier centre-piece and a wood-burning fireplace. A staircase takes one to a basement wine-cellar closed-off by an incredible antique, hand-carved Moroccan double door. The three ground-floor bedrooms facing away from the garden/pool area exit onto two separate and romantic courtyard gardens. The one is a labyrinthine, pebbled herb garden and the other has a bubbling water-feature, orange-trees and cosy bench for two. The front-facing exterior of the villa is accessed from every single room in the house via large, wooden-framed shutter doors. Balau-Timber decking creates an extended patio that wraps around the entirety of the homes front-facing perimeter. The appeal here is how one can easily utilise each separate area of the patio for a different occasion. Plenty of outdoor couch-furniture, sun-loungers and tables fill the main and shaded veranda space. The rim-flow pool is a heated highlight worth a noteworthy mention. It is sixteen metres in length and quite deep. The garden is at least 2 acres in size and has superbly terraced rose bushes and a young grape- vineyard. An astro-turf tennis-court is a perfect addition to the gardens completed functionality. Surrounding the gardens perimeter is a thick expanse of forest trees and over-grown vegetation and includes a back-drop of 360 degree mountain views. |
