| Words By Aimee Eveleigh Gordon This villa is so grand and opulent, it feels more like being inside a sea-side palace in the hills. It is an original architectural design by Allan Walk. The interior design is the decorative genius of Beth Murray of Stephan Anthony. The home is designed so as one has access to any level or room of the home from any entrance to the villa. The entrance has an exquisite water-feature which flows down one wall and trickles over the rocks below. The entrance s exterior is built of original Jerusalem stone and unfinished and raw travertine stone. The interior flooring is imported marble straight from its quarry in Portugal. The homes living-area floor is clean, fresh and cool to the eye. It has a bar/cellar finished in Mahogany wood and indestructable glass-fusion fixtures and Aluminium accents. The formal living room and the rest of the bar/entertainment space is arranged with an assortment of furnishings in materials such as zebra-hide, contemporary and post-modern original artwork, solid-wood tables and stools, lime-stone glass-fusion tables, and a stool covered completely in the leather made from an actual shark-skin. The main section of the entrance hall/ living room has walls papered in alluminium-thread silver. Similarly, the guest cloak-room features walls clad from top-to-toe in the same shark-skin leather as in the lounge furnishings. The home does, importantly, have air-conditioning and underfloor heating throughout its entirety and in every room. The ceiling light-fittings are unique in that a multitude of varying visual effects may be harnessed from each separate source of light, making it an ideal location for film and photo-shoots. The formal dining room has a sea-facing view through its rare wall made from curved glass panels. A service section is divided by a swinging glass-door leading to the kitchen. The service wall-fixture is framed by az magnificent bent Copper wall feature and is finished in original Mahogany and marble. The transisters inside its marble casing can heat up and the surface may be used to heat up or further cook food – straight from the serving dish. The dining table sits twelve in soft, brushed leather seating. The open-plan kitchen may be closed off via sound-proofed, sand-blasted glass sliding doors. The kitchen is finished with all-imported German appliances and surfaces. The walls and units are covered in beaded aluminium and counter tops are finished in non-porous, non-scratch Caesar-Stone. Aside from the fully-equipped nature of the entire kitchen, it features two large Gaggenau ovens and a Mhelle Classic steam oven. The kitchen has concealed cupboard-door freezers and fridges, a pantry andf a scullery. A European Spanish Elevator may transport one to the bedroom level, or one may choose to take the solid-marble slabbed stair-case. A sky-light dome is the ceiling feature in this part of the home. The home s roof is made of a flexible Alluminium, aerodynamic curved roof that may withstand 150 mle winds. The exterior/ patio section has a heated infinity pool surrounded by a Jerusalem Stone wall-feature. Additionally, the space includes a 500 square metre section of lawn to be utilised for any type of conceivable occasion, i.e weddings, etc. The upper-bedroom section of the home has a bullet-proof and indestructable perspex-like panel and door therebye closing this floor off from the lower level of the villa. From this level, one has access to both 2-car garages . Additionally the property has off-street parking space for four cars. Back inside, the top level includes three bedrroms. Both the smaller bedrooms have double beds, air-conditioning, underfloor heating and en-suite bathrooms. Both rooms have door exits onto the travertine-tiled balcony. The balcony has luxurious lounge furnishings and fantastic sea views. The bathrooms have heated towel rails, sky-lights, jacuzzi baths, showers and Caesar-Stone finishings. The one bedroom includes a walk-in wardrobe, as opposed to the others built-in cupboards. The master suite is absolutely vast in size and has wrap-around views of the mountains, the sea and Lions Head. It has a huge ceiling heater/climate control system, a techno-bike for excersising, and a revolving big-screen plasma screen television – complete with surround-sound music system, DVD player and satellite TV. The full size of the suite is 125sq metres, roughly the size of the average persons entire apartment building flat. The bed is an extra-length King-size. The rooms artwork is a magnificent collection of Donnie Totten originals. The huge vanity mirror is designed with the original technique of Mexican Spooning Glass. The ceiling lighting sequence has 5 different lighting effects. The en-suite bathroom is c0overed in pure, sand-washed marble tiling. The lighting is spectacular with is Versailles Infinity rock-featurfe lights. The open-plan shower is surrounded by rustic, raw Jerusalem stone walls. The jacuzzi/spa bath has panoramic mountain and sea views from its position. The bedroom also haqs two separate walk-in cupboards. The bigger of the two has wall after wall of mirrored-sliding-door cupboard space. All cupboards and doors are finished in original Beech wood. All doors are fireproof and bullet-proof. The lower-level section of the home is dedicated to privacy and high-class entertaining. It features a velvet-curtained alcove housing a majestic Grand piano, another kithcen and bar area for more casual or cocktail party style entertaining and a vast interior and exterior lounge-suite arrangement. The entire space has an amazing surround-sound speaker system. A separate TV room has a sound-proof protector screen and a high-definition HUGE-screen TV.Music system, DVD player and Satellite are also included here. Everything in the kithchen and lounge area is finished in black-speckled granite and accessorised with Carol Boyes originals. Here, an additional guest-suite is available and it serves the purpose of being private and secluded. It has a queen bed on an original mahogany base and a bathroom with double vanities, a bath and a shower. Another exciting addition is the fully-equipped kids recreation/play room, which has everything from a pool table, an air-hockey table, a Tv with /dvd player and satellite, ton a sliding-glass door exit onto the garden/patio area outside with a very state-of -the-art climbing frame/jungle gym. The lower-level includes a very private and sound-proofed office/study with a marvellous Aluminium-sheet wall-feature which conceals tons of cupboard and sliding-drawer storage space. The study includes a plasma-screen TV, printer, fax, PC, phone line and wireless internet connection. All furniture is Swiss original master-crafted to fit to the natural curve of the walls. The outdoor patio has a surround-sound speaker system and electronically-operated umbrellas to provide shade in any position. Their span stretches to a total of 5 and a half metres in all directions. Furthermore, they are totally wind-proof and mobile. Six masonry-inspired stone pillars are fitted with thick curtain rails, with plush curtains hanging from them. These may be drawn to have added privacy, if so desired. The patio includes a massive gas-barbecue facility and a service window in the wall for serving food. The patio also has a 14-seater dining table surrounded by Italian Aluminium white chairs. This lower-level outdoor section is a 500 sq metre space in total. The remaining space is filled with a gorgeous outdoor lounge suite made from Denon outdoor wikcer-style framing. |
