This home is a multi-storey tribute to its natural surroundings. Masterfully incorporated into its mountain-backdropped surroundings, one enters the villa through a ground level entrance hall. Concealed, yet rustic and charming finishes like pebble paving outdoors, add to the locations ultimate enhancement. You then jump into an elevator to be carried speedily upwards into the actual home, or you may choose to ascend the Baleau Timber decked, momentously majestic, central, spiralling staircase. The architecture has very deliberately been designed to compliment and correlate to the beach side and mountain-ensconced location. The creative aspects here have again, been inspired by the surrounding landscapes raw and natural textures and subsequent colour-palette of the mountains blue-greys; olive-greens, bottle-greens, turquoise and golden-brown hues. All of the primary living spaces have been created along the central guideline which rules these spaces to be as maximised as possible in their full incorporation of the various sea and mountain views. The interior design elements were ingeniously assembled and decorated by the revered design team, Cecile & Boyds. Instead of there being an obvious distinction between the homes exterior surroundings and the textile-comforts of indoor living-spaces, they infused a collection of materials, textures and colours. The infusion of these elements manifested an interior realm which mimicked the outdoor landscape. Carpets cleverly designed to look like grass, quartz-stone walls, pebbled floors, excessive amounts of woods and resin, granite and marble, all provide the collective means by which the interiors divisions are ensconced and contribute to the effective atmosphere of a sheltered, mountain-retreat, patio sequence. All doors are fully retractable throughout the home and recreationally-orientated living areas are grouped in themed spaces, such as the Pool-Room. This level on the first floor extends to an attached guest-suite, large enough to be individually rented as a mini-villa on its own. Here on this level, one is enticed by the notion of entertaining guests with pre-dinner drinks whilst lounging in the boma-styled arrangement of grass-woven-effect chairs. Here, the living area expands seamlessly into the space holding the gorgeous infinity pool. This area is also shared with the upstairs apartment, both having spectacularly, broad, expansive coast to coast views. The pool terrace has a built-in barbecue and four-seater dining table, easily allowing flowing movement between the pool-room and its terrace. The all-in-one design philosophy has been intelligently encompassed in the second floor living area. Open-plan kitchen/lounge/living and dining area on the second floor is one massive; unobstructed space. Although a three in one, the design-elements still clearly convey an obvious sense of division. The vast dining area has a focal feature in the form of an intricate, intertwining, glass chandelier that runs the length of the table. The decadent kitchen is very Euro-chic, finished in black; Ceaser-Stone tops and lots of stainless steel. A vintage approach is also cleverly weaved into the modern kitchen, with the addition of a floor-to-ceiling wooden shelf that is filled with a never-ending collection of paperbacks. The living room is made up of a collection of seductive and tantalizing colours. Rich, creamy browns, bottle greens, stone-grey blues and beige dominate the nature-inspired ambience. Exotic elements are scattered throughout in the form of chic, European and Eastern art-de-co pieces. In the main, master bedroom; silver and dark-chocolatey tones are the predominant colours. Copper and brass accents compliment the palette and create a warmth and cosiness to the expansive room. Many original Jeremy Wafer artworks prevail throughout. The bathroom can be made private by closing the internal American-shutters. A collection of blown-glass work art pieces are incorporated into the decoration of this rooms tailor-made walk-in wardrobe. Descending to the first floor guest bedroom, the reigning look is comprised of textures, textures and more textures. Grass wallpaper, a snakeskin headboard, and richly-marbled wood varieties are seductively intermingled here. The multi-levelled use of so many extraordinary colours and textures, individually themed in each respective room; adds a unique depth and character to every living space. |
